Summary, Etc.The project sought to generate basic data and information on new systems of cultural operations which may be inputted into the development of an effective minimum/zero tillage technique for intensive corn cultivation under upland rainfed growing conditions. Four different studies were conducted in Sultan Kudarat, Bukidnon, Batangas and at the UPLB Central Experiment Station (UPLB-CES) from July 1981 to June 1983. The first study determined the effects of N and P on corn grown under zero-tillage conditions. The second study investigated the bio-economic effects of various combinations of tillage and weed control techniques. The third study focused on the best methods of fertilizer and insecticide application. The last study dealt with the trial of five rotation schemes to develop a production scheme for year-round rotation of corn with selected upland crops
