Summary, Etc.This study aimed to gather data for the design and construction of a large gasifier-combustor and kiln systems, and to identify the problems and possible improvements in the operation of the machine. Brickfiring tests showed that the combustor can be used effectively for firing clay bricks at peak temperature of 750-850 deg C. Strength and water absorption tests on the products revealed that their properties are within set standards. To further evaluate the feasibility of using the combustor, succeeding activities should focus on fabrication of a large unit with improved ash-removal system and fuel loading, kiln construction suitable for gasifier-combustor and conversion study of an existing wood or oil-fired kiln to rice hull-fed system
