Moreover, this book shows that successful farmers are high-risk takers, daring, innovative, persistent like a weed, patient, willing to learn and most of all, hardworking.  They are people who can afford to take sacrifices in favor of the prospects of higher yields and more income.  They are the farmers who continue to innovate and change some aspects of their farming practices as new technologies develop.  They are the very same farmers who attend seminars, workshops and training programs and practice whatever they learn and believe would hike their yields.  They also go out of their way to convince other farmers that, indeed, the prospects of a better quality of life in the farm come from the adoption of the new rice technology.04
