Title Statement
Pesticide residue analysis for soil, water and fish from selected small farm reservoir, rice fish ecosystem, fish ponds and streams in Regions II, III, IV, and CAR
General Note
Munoz, Nueva Ecija: Central Luzon State University, 1997. 57 p
Summary, Etc.
The detected organochlorine and organophosphorus residue in fish samples collected from selected aquatic ecosystems in four regions were compared to the existing Acceptable Daily Intake (ADI), 0.0008 mg/kg body weight as set by FAO/WHO. Water pH, DO and BOD and soil pH and OM content were used to further explain the outcome of the pesticide analysis in all the samples: soil, water and fish. Analysis for organochlorine was done using chromatographic method. Presence of organophosphorus pesticide was tested using the rapid field kit. Samples collected from small farm reservoir (SFR) located in Nueva Vizcaya (Region 2) in 1995 and in 1996 gave positive results for pesticide residue. There was a decrease though of the percentage of sample that yielded positive detection, 33.33%
