Title Statement
Assessment of the efficacy of
in vitro
immunization of murine splenocytes in the production of continous hybridoma cell lines secreting specific monoclonsl antibodies
Physical Description
161-169
Summary, Etc.
Itwas suggested that
in vitro
immunization is useful when dealing with antigens that (1) have highly toxic conserved or weakly immunogenic determinants, (2)are highly toxic
in vivo,
and (3) can be obtained only in minute concentrations. A futher advantage is that
in vitro
immunization can be completed in just 5 days and that growth factors can be monitored periodically to ensure prefential survival of hydrodomis. It was also demonstrate that even a small antigen can trigger an immounogenic response during in vitro immunization
